Society tends to equilibrate you

I, you, or anyone cannot exist without the society at all. But as you start doing better in your life, your societal group changes, and it must... because your old societal group isn't "capable" of keeping you.

Let me explain the concept in a bit detail...

In rural societies and basically in all other societies, at least some people, care about the poor and the underprivileged. You must have seen people offering food, cloths, etc. to the needy ones and it'a really great thing to do so. I mean, there's no point in enjoying all the privilege while other people suffer.

But as you figure out how to make more money than an average earner in the society, they do not at all support you. They try to bring you down so that you do not escape from under their influence, and stay just like them.

A diagram of how society tends to equilibrate you – if you're poor it brings you the balance point, and if you're rich it again brings you to the balance point.

I have tried demonstrating this by using the above diagram which shows that the society tends to bring you towards the balance point – whether you're poor or trying to be rich.

3 idiots movie scene

I am also remembering this iconic statement from the bollywood movie 3 Idiots where one of the characters says, "Dost fail ho jaye toh dukh hota hai… Lekin dost first aa jaye toh zyada dukh hota hai". It translates to: "If a friend fails, it hurts... but if the friend tops, it hurts even more".

And it does highlight the basic human nature, and there's nothing wrong in it. This is how it is and this is my loose attempt to explain things.
