Mental health is real

When we had joint families where multiple people will the share the same home, depression wasn't a real thing back then because how can you be depressed when you have a lot people around you and you're almost never alone. It was good times, in terms of that.

But when the times are changing and families are getting smaller and nuclear, this problem of loneliness and depression has slowly started taking over. Most of the time people are living alone and that's taking a toll on their minds. And that's not the #1 issue, but the real issue is people haven't yet started to realize that these are "real" issues and need to be addressed. We need more awareness in the society so that these things are properly discussed and accepted.

I am not depressed or lonely, but I do, sometimes, come across people who are very lonely and are on the verge of categorized as depressed. And the worse thing is, they, themselves, do not realize this yet.

Why? Lack of awareness and acceptance in the society.
